TABLE OF CONTENTS

Venues are where events are held. You can add venue info to specific events.

To see all venues, click "Venues" in the left navigation menu. To add a venue, click "Venues," then "Add New."

PatronManager Venue Syncing

Every event must have a venue to sync with PatronManager, or syncing is disabled.

If you've synced your website with PatronManager during setup, all venues in PatronManager should be ready in Wordpress unless you've recently added a new venue or seat map.

In the box labeled "Venue PatronManager Sync Settings," select your venue from the dropdown, then save the venue. Whatever venue data you have in PatronManager will appear on the venue page when you publish it.

Below, you can add additional data that's not in PatronManager, such as an image, dimensions, address, phone, map, capacity, directions, and more.

Venue Details

Add your venue's name in the box marked "Enter Title here."

If you don't use PatronManager as your ticketing system, fill in the venue info as desired.

If you have any maps on your website, make sure the venue address is entered and saved in the Google Maps area. You may need to hit Enter to make sure the address is saved.

In the Publish box on the right, click "Save Draft" while editing or "Publish" when you're done.

Venue maps on event pages

One setting controls how venue maps look on every event page: Groundplan Theme Settings >> Event Settings >> Event Usability Features >> Venue Map Layout.

  • Venue Only (default): a lightweight map of the venue that doesn't count against your Google Maps usage.
  • Interactive: a full clickable map with ticket links on pins. This is the only option that counts toward Google's free monthly limit of 10,000 map loads.
  • Map Image: a photo or graphic you upload for each venue. It uses no map loads.

For Map Image, edit each venue and upload an image in Venue Map Image. The image is cropped to 800 × 667 pixels. A venue without an image shows the Venue Only map instead, so nothing breaks while you're still uploading images.

Rename the directions button with Get Directions Button Label, in the same settings section.

This setting doesn't affect Map content blocks you add to pages. Those stay interactive maps and count toward your Google Maps usage.

If you fill in a venue's Overview field, it shows with the venue directions on event pages.
