You now have the option to use the same flexible tabbed content layout for individual events that you also find on pages. This can be helpful in cases where you have a lot of event content, like programs, videos or large casts or orchestras; or lets say your event is a gala with a fundraiser or auction component.
You can also use this layout to reorder content on your events if the default doesn't suit your audience's needs.
When creating a new event, you'll see the field "Event Layout Settings >> Layout"
For a tabbed event, change the default "Simple" layout to "Tabbed Content". This changes a number of fields on the event form, in particular adding a "Tabs" Section:
You'll still see many of the normal event fields, all of which are still important for scheduling, ticket links, and the Event overview.
- Event Images
- Event Instances
- PatronManager Sync Settings
- Categories (Genres, Series & Seasons)
- Event Calendar Type
- Event Details
- Special Event Settings (e.g. Title prefix / suffix)
- Event Short Description (note Full Description goes away!)
- Event Display Dates
- Related Artists to display on this event.
You can create any number of tabs (we recommend no more that 7-8) and put lots of the standard content blocks. This works more or less the same way as the Flex Content Page - Default Template, with the same content blocks available, with a few changes:
- There's a special Calendar block which will display the weekly calendar for the event on any tab. (For dropdown and mini calendars, those display in the overview).
- The People List block pulls people from the Related Artists to display on this event field (e.g. the cast and crew or featured performers for that event).
